How do I "design" my furniture?
It's actually easier than you might think - just 3 simple steps:
   1. Select the style you like best
   2. Drape your style in different fabric/color options to see which works best for you. Don't forget to also select the wood finish and any extra options (if appropriate).
   3. Check out all the complementary products in the list below your selected item.

Why the B&W pix?
The best way to choose your favorite style is to see it without the influence of colors or accessories in a photo. If you hate the color red, for instance, you probably won’t look at a sofa pictured in red, even though its style could be exactly what you want. That’s why we display black & white drawings of all our furniture items instead of full-color images.

What does the "Draping Image" do?
When you arrive at the product page, you'll see a black & white drawing of the item, along with its name, dimensions, price, etc. Below the illustration is an actual image of an item in the collection you selected. This is the "draping image". When you click on a fabric/color swatch in the BODY options box, you'll see the draping image actually drape the item in that fabric/color. Clicking on a fabric/color swatch in the PILLOWS options box will then drape the pillows. This is a great way to see your sofa or chair in literally thousands of fabric/color combinations.

Are the colors in the draping image exactly the same as the finished product?
Exactly – probably not, but pretty darn close! We make every effort to provide the most accurate images of all our fabrics, but due to such factors as your computer's graphics card and screen resolution, and the actual lighting conditions of your room, we can't claim an exact match. What types of fabrics do you carry?
We offer hundreds of different fabrics in various colors, including cotton twills, chenilles, velvets, and washable blends. To make it easy for you to find just what you want, we've grouped our fabrics into 7 different categories: Solid Colors, Solid Color Textures, Stripes Checks & Plaids, Floral Patterns, Other Patterns, Chenilles, and Velvets.

Can I get a sample swatch of the fabric I'm interested in?

Are the colors of your fabric swatches true to the finished piece?
Yes, although very slight shade variations are possible from dye-lot to dye-lot

How about wood finishes?
For those collections featuring exposed wood, we offer a selection of 6 different finishes, including Americana, Cherry, Chestnut, Espresso, Honey and Washed Pine.

Many collections include extra options, like:
  • FeatherSoft Cushion - our eco-down blend cushion upgrade, a modern combination of high-resiliency foam with recycled fiber and a blend of duck feather and down.
  • Arm Covers - available with most of our collections, you can add arm covers in the same fabric/color as the body

Configuring a sectional suite can be confusing, which is why we've tried to make it as simple as possible by:

How do I determine what 'right side' and 'left side' mean with sectional pieces?
Great question, especially since different manufacturers use different methods! LivingGreenFurniture describes each piece as if you were sitting in it. For instance, when the description says "1-seat w/ left arm", it means the item's arm is next to the left arm of the person sitting in it.

What's that list of products at the bottom of the page?
Every product page includes a list of all the other items available in that Collection. This makes it easier for you to find a loveseat, or chair and ottoman, to go along with the sofa you like.

Can I order a replacement slipcover for a LivingGreenFurniture item?
Absolutely - all of our slipcover furniture products include a "slipcover only" option for each item.

Can I order a slipcover for a discontinued LivingGreenFurniture item?
Usually, yes - we archive all discontinued patterns and most fabrics just for this purpose. Contact us by email (info@livinggreenfurniture.com) and our Customer Service representatives will be happy to assist you.

If I don't like your covering materials can I send in my own?
No, unfortunately we don't do C.O.M. (customer's own material) on any of our pieces. However, you can order the item with the "muslin" cover, then add your own slipcover.

How is your furniture constructed?
The heart of our custom upholstered, eco-friendly furniture is a solid frame made from American hardwoods that have been sustainably harvested. We use kiln-dried hardwood as well as solid and laminate boards that are precision-milled into a frame that will never twist, warp or crack. In an effort to minimize any waste of resources, our kiln is fired from the sawdust and wood waste produced during the milling process. Joints are held strong with double-dowel or mortise and tenon and corner block construction.

Our suspension systems are an important part of our comfort story. LivingGreen Furniture uses either a traditional sinuous spring system or a state-of-the-art elastomeric webbing system.

Our cushions are specifically designed for each style of our upholstered and slipcovered furniture. Standard cushions include a core containing plant-based and recycled materials, and organic, halogen-free fire retardants. Each core is wrapped with a layer of soft polyester fiber. All cushions are made without the use of CFCs.

What type of spring systems do you use?
Our manufacturers use two different suspension systems:
   • Sinuous wire spring
   • Elastomeric webbing suspension

What's 'eco-friendly' about your furniture?
Glad you asked! Our manufacturing partners are committed to eco-friendly manufacturing processes and sustainable product development, focusing on three elements:
   • a strong selection of natural fiber fabrics, including certified organic cottons
   • the use of wood from replenished domestic forests for the frames
   • a choice of two eco-friendly cushion cores

Other eco-friendly materials used in our furniture include:
   • Arm cardboard - 100% recycled paperboard
   • Corrugated cardboard - greater than 25% made from recycled corrugated containers
   • Down cushions - filler made from recycled plastic bottles and non-bleached ticking material
   • Springs - made from recycled iron ore
   • Nails/screws - uncoated, only water-based lubricant is used
   • Foam - greater than 20% of the Polyol chemicals come from plant-based, renewable raw materials. In addition, the foam-making process is free of ABA's, CFC's and auxiliary CO2. Fire-Retardant materials contain organic, halogen-free and PBDE-free materials
   • Cotton - 97% recycled materials

What's 'eco-friendly' about your cushions?
We offer a choice of two eco-friendly cushion cores:
   • Our standard core contains plant-based, renewable materials which replace significant amounts of petroleum-based materials used in standard cushions. It also contains organic, halogen-free fire retardants.
   • Our Eco-Down blend cushion is a channel-quilted down-proof jacket filled with multiple layers of high-resiliency recycled fiber foam surrounded by a blend of duck feather and down. The cotton ticking used to encase the feather and down is not bleached.

What do the Cleaning Codes on your fabric pages mean?
The description for each code is:

W: Spot clean only with water based shampoo or foam upholstery cleaner. Pretest a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding. Do not over wet. Do not use solvents to spot clean. Pile fabrics may require brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush to restore appearance. Hot water extraction or steam cleaning is not a recommended cleaning method. Cushion covers should not be removed and laundered. To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush to remove dust and grime is recommended. When cleaning a spill, blot immediately to remove spilled material. Clean spots or stains from the outside to the middle of the affected area to prevent circling. Use a professional furniture cleaning service when an overall soiled condition has been reached.

S: Spot clean only with a water-free dry cleaning solvent. Pretest a small, inconspicuous area before proceeding. Do not saturate. DO NOT USE WATER. Pile fabrics may require brushing with a nonmetallic, stiff bristle brush to restore appearance. Cushion covers should not be removed and dry-cleaned. To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush to remove dust and grime is recommended. When cleaning a spill, blot immediately to remove spilled material. Clean spots or stains from the outside to the middle of the affected area to prevent circling. Overall cleaning by a professional furniture cleaning service only is recommended.

Cushion casings should not be removed and laundered or dry-Cleaned. To prevent overall soiling, frequent vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush to remove dust and grime is recommended. When cleaning a spill, blot immediately to remove spilled material. Clean spots or stains from the outside to the middle of affected area to prevent circling. Use a professional furniture cleaning service when an overall soiled condition has been reached.

X: Clean only by vacuuming or light brushing with a non-metallic, stiff bristle brush. DO NOT USE ANY WATER OR SOLVENT BASED CLEANER.

NOTE: These cleaning codes refer to the ability of the yarns in a particular fabric to remain colorfast to either water, solvent, or both and does not reflect the ability of that fabric to withstand specific cleaning methods. The above given methods are "guideline" procedures used to evaluate color changes within the cleaned areas under standardized conditions. The results are not necessarily directly related to consumer cleaning with water base cleaners or solvent base cleaners, but the codes will give reliable information on the fastness of the fabric coloration to water and solvent, the principal agents that cause color migration and bleeding.

Do you charge sales tax?
We are only required to collect state sales tax on items being shipped to Pennsylvania addresses. PA Tax Exempt Organizations should fax their resale certificates after placing an order.

Please understand that once your custom furniture order has been placed into production, it can no longer be changed or cancelled.

All furniture pieces are shipped by our White Glove Home Delivery service, while orders for slipcovers only are shipped via UPS

How long will it take to receive my order?
It will take approximately 6-8 weeks for your custom furniture to be built, covered, quality inspected, packed and shipped.

Will I be notified of the delivery time?
Yes. Approximately one week before your furniture will be delivered, you will receive a call notifying you of the delivery date. You’ll then receive a second call the day before the scheduled delivery to advise you of the four-hour time window during which your furniture will be delivered the next day. If either the delivery dates or times are inconvenient for you, our team will be happy to work with you over the phone to find a more suitable delivery arrangement.

Do you deliver to my door and bring the furniture into my home?
Yes. Our delivery team will carefully carry your new furniture into your home, unpack it, place it just where you want it, and then remove all packing materials on their way out. All White Glove Home Delivery team members are experienced furniture movers and always eager to help.

Please note: delivery is limited to two flights of stairs unless prior notification is given and approved in writing. Additional charges may apply if furniture needs to be carried up or down more than two flights.

How much will shipping cost?
All furniture pieces are shipped by our White Glove Home Delivery service to any address in the continental U.S for $99 per order. Whether it's a chair to Chattanooga, 3 loveseats to Lubbock, or a 7-piece sectional to Sacramento ... it's still only $99!

Slipcovers only are shipped via UPS and the actual cost is calculated in real time and added to your order during the online checkout process.

Please note: Shipping to Alaska, Hawaii and Canada is additional. Please contact our Customer Service representatives by email at Info@LivingGreenFurniture.com for a quote. Canadian orders may be subject to border taxes and import fees at the customer’s expense & responsibility.

We do not ship outside the U.S. or Canada.

What if my item arrives damaged?
In the unlikely event that your furniture arrives in less than acceptable condition, we will make all necessary repairs, no questions asked! Certain defects may be repaired in your home with our authorization. If the repair cannot be completed in your home, arrangements will be made to transport the item to one of our Factory Service Centers.

To request service under this warranty, please contact our Customer Service representatives by email at Info@LivingGreenFurniture.com within three (3) business days of delivery. Certain information is required to process a request for service, including your Full Name, Shipping Address, Contact Information (phone and/or email), Order Number and the Style and Serial Numbers of the item (these numbers are on the white label sewn to the underside of the piece of furniture).

What is your 'lifetime guarantee'?
The LivingGreenFurniture Warranty is limited in that it is provided to you, the original purchaser and owner, by our U.S.-based manufacturing partner. The LivingGreenFurniture Warranty does not apply to furniture that has been used or abused in a business environment and/or for commercial purposes. What is your cancellation policy?
You may cancel your order for a full refund as long as you email our Customer Service representatives within three (3) business days of placing the order. Please understand that once your custom furniture order has been placed into production, it can no longer be cancelled.
